Like you, we felt it did a good job of tackling the"tough" questions of death, suffering and evil and their challenges to faith. Unlike you, we kind of liked the portrayal of heaven as a Monet painting (the scene in the pond). It's kind of like telling us that really beautiful art (in all its forms) is a glimpse of heaven. All in all, a well cast movie that was satisfying movie on many levels. Thanks again.

Attila JagoditsAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11789157.post-73680713981711696002016-03-26T16:42:10.514-05:002016-03-26T16:42:10.514-05:00I totally thought the same thing. AND you will walk away with some new answers to the perennial "problem of evil." :) Agreed about trailers today. Thanks for the tip about B v. S. The whole premise just sounded wrong to me. AND I cannot abide Affleck where Bale should be. :)Sr. Helena Burns, fsphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09196121481873845379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11789157.post-70268153635486690572016-03-26T16:28:23.725-05:002016-03-26T16:28:23.725-05:00What's my motivation to see this movie after t...What's my motivation to see this movie after the trailer itself...any modern-day movie for that matter. (I already know the ending)

Trailers these days are incredibly unimaginative.

Side Note: Anyone who wants to see Superman vs. Batman (and escaped temptation of seeing all trailers) Know that Zack Snyder is set on destroying the purpose of Superman and it is awful. I was excited after reading the plot that Batman was upset that Superman destroyed buildings and KILLED (Superman would have never done that) and was going to have a good talking to with him. It wasn't any of that. More buildings destroyed, more people killed.

Superman is dead. God is not.

Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11789157.post-60320591417913372152016-03-26T15:17:18.566-05:002016-03-26T15:17:18.566-05:00I know this condition of which you speak. It wasn't a mystery and no Mom could ever "do" that to her child. Also there's all kinds of documentation on the child's all-to-well known illness (with no cure) by the best doctors/hospitals in Boston. The bizarre way she was cured is also well-documented. Doubt no longer, but believe! :)Sr. Helena Burns, fsphttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09196121481873845379noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-11789157.post-83711533189033037172016-03-26T15:14:25.612-05:002016-03-26T15:14:25.612-05:00This sounds a lot better than I thought it would b...This sounds a lot better than I thought it would be, but I have a question. I live in a town with a famous children's hospital, and every few years some mother (it always seems to be the mother) is arrested for making her child deathly but mysteriously sick because of "Munchausen by Proxy" -- a rare psychological disorder in which a person seeks attention by making another person sick so she can "help" her and also be seen as incredibly admirable and perfect because of her devotion. The woman is always caught because the illness is weird and unexplainable, gets better in teh hospital but worse at home... until they film the child's hospital room and find her doing something like putting feces in the child's IV (the last one was caught doing that). In the commercial I have heard about five milllion times, the mother is said to have devoted her life to finding a cure for her daughter's mysterious illness. I immediately wondered if this story could be a case of M. by Proxy, in which the "miracle" suddenly takes the place of the illness by getting the mother lots of attention and admiration. Now, I know that sounds incredibly cynical, but then so is is nearly killing your child so you get attention, and that HAPPENS. So... did it seem at all like that could be the case? Did they address that in any way? This doubting Thomas needs proof, I guess...Gail Finkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02117490028494416722noreply@blogger.com
