If you have the time, I suggest reading "PUSH." It, too, is a hard journey but very insightful. It did not raise the same concerns that "Precious" has as far as potential stereotyping in part, I think, because the risk of essentializing or stereotyping seems more likely in the film medium where the audience potentially becomes a voyeur into someone's life.Lisahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11984922178492683577noreply@blogger.com
