Hello Sister, Ever since I saw this trailer a few months ago, I've been intrigued. Stunning visuals, heavy matter...had me thinking of buying a ticket. My reservation is that these movies often have a anti-Christian payoff.
I just read that this movie was not well received at Cannes...the director didn't even appear for Q&A.
Without giving too much away...can you explain what the negativity was about?
Your approval of this movie has me leaning more towards seeing it.
you can google "tree of life booed at cannes." this is excellence in filmmaking (not a "christian film")otherwise sean penn and brad pitt would certainly not be attached. i'm allowed ot release my review next week!
This film was beautiful and if you can't look past religion to see that then your view of the world is shrouded by God and I feel sorry for you that you walk through life missing it's wonderment blinkered by something intangible that in all probability doesn't exist.
I'm glad you like this film as much as I did. The only difference between you and me--I think--is that I believe that God is the source of all this beauty. God doesn't shroud beauty--He creates it.:]
